World Class Metro Systems

After such a successful launch in Dubai, Willie became the interim General Manager of the Dubai Metro with executive responsibility for Security; Marketing & Media; HR; and Health, Safety, Quality & Environment.

He is regarded as a subject matter expert in railway major incidents and early in 2010 his services were retained to support the new Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro, being built to cater for the millions of pilgrims attending Makkah for the annual Hajj.

The ‘Makkah Metro’ opened successfully in November 2010 following a world record construction time of 22 months. This was the first passenger railway of its type in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and he worked closely with a large number of private and government organisations including the Civil Defence, the Police, the Red Crescent and the Health Authorities, MOMRA, The Supreme Hajj Commission and many others, helping to draw together their collective professional expertise, so as to support the safety certification and successful launch and operation of this iconic new railway.

انظمة مترو جديدة بمواصفات عالمية

بعد التدشين الناجح لمترو دبي، تولى ويلي منصب مدير عام مؤقت له ليتولى مسؤولية تنفيذية عن الأمن، التسويق، الإعلام، الموارد البشرية، الصحة والسلامة ، والجودة والبيئة.

وقد تم اعتباره خبيرا مختصا في مجال الاحداث الكبرى المتعلقة بالقطارات وقد تمت الاستعانة بخدماته في بداية عام 2010 لدعم قطار (مترو) المشاعر المقدسة والذي أنشئ لخدمة ملايين الحجاج القادمين الى مكة سنويا في مواسم الحج.

تم افتتاح “مترو مكة” بنجاح في نوفمبر 2010 وبوقت قياسي عالمي هو 22 شهرا، وهو اول قطار ركاب من نوعه في المملكة العربية السعودية. وقد عمل ويلي عن كثب مع اعداد كبيرة من المؤسسات الخاصة والحكومية مثل الدفاع المدني، الشرطة، الهلال الاحمر، الهيئات الصحية، وزارة الشؤون البلدية والقروية، اللجنة العليا للحج والكثير من الجهات الاخرى من اجل توحيد وتنسيق  خبراتها المهنية المشتركة لدعم شهادات السلامة والتدشين والتشغيل الناجحين لهذا النظام الرائد للمترو الجديد.
